Sedimentary, igneous, metamorphic! What do these three categories mean when it comes to different types of rocks?
Each type of rock is unique in the way that it is formed, and at which point it can be located within the rock cycle. Due to these differences in formation, each type is also used for distinct purposes by humans. For example, we might find igneous rocks used for curling stones, while metamorphic rocks are commonly used to make roof tiles. Can you think of any other everyday objects that might utilize each type of rock?
