What is in this Course?

During this short course, we will discuss the food chain and food webs and how animals and plants interact to help each other survive and thrive. It examines the food chain of the Arctic and asks students to conduct research on the mighty blue whale. Students then research their local food chain and think about ways in which they can protect and support it to prevent any breaks in the chain!

Teaching program

The teaching program is designed to walk teachers through the process of teaching food chains, with a particular focus on The Arctic. The document is aligned with the curriculum but can be downloaded and edited to suit the needs of your school or state. The course documents include real-world learning opportunities in which students use the knowledge they have just gained, to improve the lives and the knowledge of those around them.

Real World Learning

During this course, your children will get to create amazing resources which they will use to pass on their knowledge to younger children. They will participate in impactful lessons that improve their understanding of food chains, recognise their place in it, and take action to ensure that healthy, natural food chains that exist around them are protected and supported.
