At Upschool, we’re not just about learning; we’re about making a difference. This year, we’re taking a bold step forward by launching our very own global news channel, and the best part? It will be powered by the voices of young, aspiring journalists from around the world – and that could include you!

What's This Challenge About?
We’re searching for seven passionate young individuals, aged between 8 and 18, to become the inaugural reporters for the Upschool Good News channel. This is your chance to shine a light on positive stories from your corner of the globe, stories that will uplift and inspire children everywhere.
How to Participate:
- Find a Story: Look around your community for a positive, uplifting story. It could be about a local hero, a community project, an environmental initiative, or anything that brings a smile.
- Record Your Report: Using a phone or digital device, film your news story in landscape format. Make sure the video is HD quality for the best viewing experience. Your report should last at least 90 seconds but feel free to go beyond if the story needs it!
- Begin and End with Our Signature Lines: Start your recording by saying, “Thank you, Gavin. I am here in [your location]…” and conclude with, “Back to you in the studio.”
- Submit Your Story: Once you’re done, click the button below to send the link to your film and don’t forget to Include your name, your school’s name, and your location. Hurry, the first five submissions will be featured in our pilot episode!
The Rules:
- The news story must be a ‘good news’ story, one that leaves viewers feeling inspired.
- Ensure the video is filmed in landscape format and lasts more than 90 seconds.
- Obtain any necessary permissions if you’re filming others or on private property.
