Animal Food Webs Lesson

In the natural world, it is eat or be eaten! For most animals, both are the case.

A great way to illustrate how every creature is connected based on what it eats and what eats it is by constructing a food web. A food web can help us label the predators and prey that make up each of our Earth’s ecosystems.

Knowing how the food web works can give us a better understanding of how deeply interconnected all of the plants and animals are in our natural habitats. The missing presence of one creature is enough to throw off this delicate balance of connections, which is why it is critical that we work to prevent the extinction of our plants and animals. By working towards a sustainable future, we can save the world, one animal species at a time!
