Live Lesson: The Rock Cycle

Here’s what will happen during this session:

During this week’s lesson, we will be examining the different types of rocks that exist on Earth. This will help tie into the research we are currently conducting in the Arctic Circle.

During this session, the children will discover the differences between igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. They will also conduct research in their own environment, back garden or school playground, to try to locate the various types of rocks mentioned.

As an extension activity, we will study the rock cycle and start to understand the journey that any given rock on Earth goes through whilst transforming from igneous, metamorphic, sedimentary, and then starting from the very beginning again.

This is going to be a lesson of discovery, science and geology, and one not to be missed.
