About the Course
A 10-week course designed to take you on a journey through our solar system and into the far reaches of space!
What is this Course About?
This course is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the vast and complex universe we live in. Starting with an introduction to space and our solar system, students will learn about the different planets, their unique features, and their position in the solar system. The course then moves on to explore the structure of the Earth, the Moon, and the other planets of the solar system, both inner and outer. Students will also learn about asteroids, comets, and meteors, and the different ways humans explore space, including space probes.
The course concludes with a discussion of the sun, stars, galaxies, and the future of space exploration, including the possibility of colonizing other planets. By the end of the course, students will have gained a comprehensive understanding of the universe and its workings.
Cross-Curricular Learning
The course will be delivered from Antarctica alongside the amazing Dr Karl and Jordan C. Brun. Each week we will align the content with stores from the Antarctic region to bring the world of space one step closer to the children in your class.

Teaching Resources
Teachers and parents will find curriculum-aligned weekly lesson plans inside, with differentiated task cards, activities and videos that will keep your children engaged throughout the entire course. Learning sequences will be released weekly, with each lesson extending your children’s capabilities, socially, emotionally and academically. Enjoy!
Ten-Week Overview
This ten-week medium-term scope and sequence allows teachers and parents to see the progression of the course and how it aligns with the national curriculum. Teachers and parents are welcome to download a copy of this program before starting the course in their school and edit it as they see fit.
Real World Learning
Mathematics
Throughout this course, we will empower children by giving them agency and choice in the way they engage with the inspirational lessons. The course will incorporate cross-curricular themes, such as values, culture, history, and geography, to provide a holistic learning experience. Each week, children will be encouraged to express their understanding through creative art and mathematics.
Leadership
Each week we will allow your children to design a teaching resource based on the new knowledge they have gained and the research they conduct. We will then expect your children to visit a class of younger children and teach them about the subject matter at hand. This will allow them to develop a sense of leadership within the school and build cohesion between the year groups.

It’s 100% free – yes. Nothing to pay to be involved.
We have 5 year old children right through to adults participating. It’s differentiated and open to everyone.
Either. Whole school engagement is the best way to have maximum impact, but it certainly can be done by one class or by one year level. You can even use it as an extension program for a small number of students too if that works for you.
Absolutely. Anyone can join!
No, not at all. Individuals (adults and children) can go through the course.
