Social Scenario 2: Uniform or Unique?

Social Scenarios are a collection of real-world scenarios designed to get children thinking about key issues from the perspective of decision-makers!

100% Free Scenarios

What are Social Scenarios?

In our collection of Social Scenarios, students will be putting themselves in the shoes of key decision-makers and will need to make a tough decision. They will be asked to think about the concept of empathy and how it can help guide their decision-making process.

The students will watch videos that explain the scenarios and then work together in teams to come up with a decision. They will need to think about how their decision will affect everyone involved and consider different perspectives.

We expect to see the students demonstrating skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork. They will need to listen to each other’s ideas and opinions, respectfully share their own, and work together to come up with a decision that takes into account the needs and perspectives of all stakeholders.

Additionally, we expect the students to demonstrate empathy, the ability to understand and share the feelings of others, which is an important life skill that can help them become compassionate and responsible members of society.

Teaching program

Each Social Scenario is accompanied by a comprehensive teaching program, designed to walk teachers through the process of facilitating the exploration of Social Scenarios in the classroom. These documents are aligned with the curriculum but can be downloaded and edited to suit the needs of your school or state. Each scenario is designed to be engaging, challenging and cross-curricular!

Real World Learning

Social Scenarios are designed to evoke real-world situations where key decisions need to be made. However, each scenario considers multiple perspectives, with no right or wrong answer! In nearly every scenario, each person or group showcased is affected in some way, and students need to work out who or what to support, and why.

This collection of scenarios will continue to grow over time, with new scenarios added periodically. Enjoy!
