What are SDG Challenges?

SDG Challenges engage students in tasks aligned with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, fostering understanding of global issues like poverty and climate change. The adaptable teaching program includes diverse, curriculum-aligned resources, encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving. Students actively contribute to these goals, documenting their journey in a digital resume. Additionally, the program empowers students to communicate with global leaders, enhancing their understanding and involvement in global dialogues, thereby amplifying their impact.

Teaching Program

Our teaching program for the SDG Challenges is extensive and adaptable, providing teachers with the tools to facilitate these challenges in the classroom. The program includes a range of resources and activities that are aligned with the curriculum but can be tailored to meet the specific needs of different schools or regions. Each challenge is crafted to be engaging, thought-provoking, and cross-curricular. The goal is to ensure that students not only learn about the SDGs in a theoretical sense but also develop essential skills such as critical thinking, empathy, and problem-solving.

Real World Application

The SDG Challenges are designed to encourage real-world application and impact. Students are prompted to undertake tasks that allow them to actively contribute to addressing the issues highlighted by the SDGs. This hands-on approach ensures that students are not just passive learners but active participants in making a real-world impact. As students progress through the challenges, they document their experiences and reflections, adding to their digital resumes. This practice of reflection and documentation helps students connect their learning to tangible actions, fostering a sense of empowerment and responsibility towards making a positive impact on the planet.

Digital Resume

During the SDG Challenges, participants create a digital resume, recording their journey through each challenge. Starting with a personalized cover page, they add a page after each challenge, detailing actions and reflections. By the end, this 17-page document showcases their engagement with the SDGs, personalized using a Canva template to reflect their unique experiences and growth.

Empowering Global Communication

In addition to the educational and hands-on aspects of the SDG Challenges, we offer a unique opportunity for students to engage directly with global leaders. Each week of the course, children will have the chance to write to one of the world’s most powerful and influential leaders, either via email or traditional post. This aspect of the program allows students to articulate their insights and perspectives on each of the SDGs, fostering a real-world connection and communication skills. By expressing their views and solutions to these leaders, students not only practice effective communication but also feel heard and valued on a global stage. This experience not only enhances their understanding of the SDGs but also empowers them to be active participants in global dialogues, reinforcing the belief that their voices and actions can truly make a difference in the world
